Where: Town Hall, Sydney
When: 28th – 29th of September

Town hall in general was a pretty good place for cosplayers. It gave them the opportunity to get some wonderful photos with some very historic looking buildings in the background. The temperature inside was fairly well controlled as well which was fortunate as it was a very hot day. If the hall ways were crowded though it was very hard to move around and there were lots of steps! Also the policy of making cosplayers check in there weapons into the cloak room then CHARGING them for it is a bit of a low blow. The stage and the runway were very good and gave a good opportunity for photographers (if they held the pose long enough).

The comp was fairly well organised and even ran on time on Saturday with a large amount of entries able to enter. They also had a lot of categories so people had lots of opportunities to get a prize. The level of cosplay was pretty good but nothing the stood super duper out in my mind. Generally all the skits on both days were excellent (except I am sick of every Kingdom Hearts skit being yaoi).

Two personal favourites that didn’t get a prize are:

[link] - It takes a lot of courage to do a hentai cosplay and she pulled it off well.

The large bleach group from Saturday. Sadly no good photos but they were fantastic.

A well attended and well run event they will have a challenge to keep it up as they shift locations and hold the Australian preliminary finals of the WCS next year.
